Friends of the Tonto NF is working with local organizations to plan invasive plant removal projects.  We have completed projects and are planning more with Lost Dutchman State Park, Usery Mountain Regional Park, Superstition Area Land Trust and Superstition High School.  If you have a group that would be interested in making a difference please contact us.

Fountain and buffel grasses  threatens both the Tonto NF and neighboring areas.  The grasses will be pulled, and placed in large bags to dispose of as many seeds as possible.

Buffel grass - Pass Mountain

Volunteers need to wear long pants, closed footwear and sun protection.  Bring sufficient water for approx. 4 hours of activity.  There will be a brief review of the safety requirements at the staging area along with a sign-in sheet acknowledging understanding of the safety rules.  Anyone under 18 years old must have parental permission.
