Here is an interesting native plant that can be mistaken for buffelgrass, especially when not flowering. Feather fingergrass (Chloris virgata) is apparently native to this area but has the potential to be a nuisance weed in some areas. I have only seen it occasionally. These photos were taken in the Usery Mountain area and I also saw some in Payson near the Shoofly Village ruins. The plant is very distinctive when flowering.
